Assistant Superintendent | Up to $120k + Bonus & 100% Paid Full Benefits | Suffolk County, NY

Your new role

My client, a well-established construction firm, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to support field operations on higher-education construction projects. This role is essential in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Assistant Superintendent will supervise field labor, coordinate subcontractors, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead meetings with subcontractors, architects, and local authorities
• Assist in managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and timelines
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety plans
• Prepare and distribute focus schedules and daily construction reports
• Coordinate inspections and third-party testing
• Host weekly subcontractor meetings and document minutes
• Manage QA/QC programs and ensure high-quality work
• Support project close-out and punch list completion

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience (preferred)
• Experience with phased, occupied renovation projects
• Willingness to supervise night shifts
• OSHA-30 certification required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Procore experience is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
