Commercial Construction Project Manager

About the Company

Headquartered in the heart of the Inland Northwest, Walker Construction has been shaping meaningful spaces for over 41 years. As a trusted commercial general contractor since 1983, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding construction solutions from urban renovations and multifamily housing to industrial facilities, higher‑education campuses, and healthcare centers.

We believe well‑designed buildings enrich people’s lives. That conviction drives our approach of blending craftsmanship, innovation, and lasting relationships to bring vision to life.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of restoring and constructing some of Spokane’s most recognizable landmarks, including the historic Fox Theater , the beloved Looff Carrousel in Riverfront Park, The M Building renovation, and The Falls Tower , currently under construction along the Spokane River. Each project reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, community, and delivering spaces that stand the test of time.

We’re looking for a hands-on Project Manager who can both estimate and lead commercial construction projects valued at $5 million and up. In this role, you’ll take ownership from bid to closeout, delivering high-quality results. • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Review the work progress on daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Deliver projects on schedule and under budget.
  • Ensure owner satisfaction with construction process and end result.

Must-Haves for This Role

  • 4+ years of commercial construction experience, including project management and estimating
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, means, codes, and safety practices
  • Experience managing projects $5M-$10M
  • Ability to read plans, scope trades, and develop accurate bids
  • Comfortable juggling both pre-con and construction responsibilities
  • Proficiency with construction management software
  • Natural leadership, clear communication, and big-picture thinking
  • BS degree in Construction Management or equivalent field experience.
  • Proven experience fostering community partnerships and professional networks.

What We Offer:

Job Type: Full-time

Competitive Salary: $100K - $150K

  • Year-end bonus potential
  • Work-Life balance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, vision, dental and life insurance
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Relocation assistance available
  • Supportive leadership and an experienced field team
  • Projects you’ll be proud to put your name on
