Job Description

Overview

A private family is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to oversee the day-to-day care

and maintenance of a large townhouse in New York City. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, care, and discretion. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership, pays close attention to detail, and ensures the home is maintained in impeccable condition at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform all daily housekeeping duties, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining all interior

spaces to the highest quality standards.

• Execute regular deep cleaning and seasonal care of rooms, surfaces, and finishes.

• Handle all laundering, pressing, and steaming of clothing and linens, ensuring proper care for delicate fabrics and garments.

• Manage wardrobe organization, including rotation of seasonal items and upkeep of closets and

dressing areas.

• Maintain the kitchen and pantries, ensuring all areas are clean, stocked, and orderly.

• Keep all storage areas, closets, and household supplies meticulously organized and inventoried.

• Ensure the residence is guest-ready at all times, maintaining a calm, welcoming environment.

• Anticipate and prepare for family or guest arrivals, including food, beverages, and setup as needed.

• Run errands, receive deliveries, inspect and set up new items, and ensure proper storage and

documentation.

• Maintain household inventories and coordinate purchasing and replenishment of consumables and supplies.

• Conduct daily walkthroughs of the property to identify maintenance or repair needs.

• Coordinate minor household repairs and vendor visits, ensuring all systems—including HVAC,

lighting, and appliances—are functioning properly.

• Manage accurate records of maintenance schedules.

• Communicate effectively with the Estate Manager regarding property conditions, supply needs, and ongoing upkeep requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-end private residence or luxury hospitality environment.

• Proven ability to independently maintain and oversee a large high-end residential household.

• Strong knowledge of fine furnishings, finishes, and wardrobe care.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to create and maintain household systems.

• Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.

• High level of discretion, professionalism, and reliability.

• Positive, service-oriented attitude with flexibility to adapt to changing household needs.

• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

• Valid U.S. work authorization and driver’s license required.

• Valid passport for potential domestic or international travel.
