Responsibilities

Marine Surveyors at NCB are responsible for conducting a variety of surveys and inspections, including:

• Container inspections for regulatory compliance
• Cargo securing verification to prevent damage or loss
• Vessel stability assessments for grain loading
• Vessel hold inspections, bunker surveys, and draft surveys
• Damaged cargo claims and risk engineering surveys

Qualifications

NCB welcomes candidates from diverse maritime backgrounds, including:

• Holders of Unlimited Master or Mates Licenses (preferred)
• Graduates of Federal Maritime Academies or State Maritime Colleges
• Former U.S. Coast Guard personnel with Marine Safety experience
• Professionals with bulk carrier/draft survey or container ship/hazardous cargo experience
• Individuals with strong verbal and written communication skills

• Valid U.S. State Driver’s License
• Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
