JOB SUMMARY

The ideal candidate would have a passion for developing board-level analog and RF hardware designs, along with experience developing digital hardware designs. At Epiq, you will be tasked with the design, analysis and hands-on integration and testing of complex RF circuitry and subsystems, plus providing technical support for the product. Interested? JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop block diagrams of potential hardware design concepts from high level requirements.
  • Lead the RF/Microwave circuit and sub-system design, component analysis, modeling, simulation, prototyping and integration.
  • Perform part selection and schematic entry for analog/RF/digital circuit designs
  • Lead circuit design through layout by providing guidance on parts placement and critical routing
  • Troubleshoot prototype and production hardware in the lab using RF, analog, and digital test equipment
  • Assist with the creation and review of technical documentation and proposals
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional teams such as Software, FPGA, Automated Test, Production to enable feature implementation, integration & debugging to develop new SDR products.
  • Drive best practices on the team, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor's or higher in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of prior work experience developing real-world products.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a cross-domain engineering team.
  • Design experience with at least three of the following:

- RF low noise amplifiers (LNA)

- RF power amplifiers (PA)

- RF frequency synthesizer analysis/design (PLLs)

- RF impedance matching (Smith charts)

- RF filter design (lumped element and/or distributed)

- Switching power supplies (DC/DC converters)

- Embedded microcontrollers and associated interfacing (I2C, SPI, UART)

- High speed digital design including FPGA-based systems

- Interfacing to high-speed A/D and D/A converters

  • Experience with at least one schematic capture/PCB layout package (Altium Designer preferred)
  • Experience with microwave test equipment such as vector network analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, noise sources, multimeter, and signal sources
  • Self-motivated personality and able to work independently
  • Ability to multitask between two or more projects
  • Able to work on US Government Contracts which requires U.S. citizenship
