Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Vision Systems Engineer to join our team. This role involves interacting with internal clients to understand their needs and developing a Proof of Concept utilizing Vision Systems, often for inspection and quality control systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of technical documents such as product requirements and design input and output documents. Additionally, the engineer will participate in project planning activities, design review meetings, and cross-functional collaborations.
Responsibilities
· Interact with internal clients to understand their needs.
· Develop a Proof of Concept utilizing Vision Systems, often for inspection and quality control systems.
· Contribute to the development of technical documents such as product requirements and design input and output documents.
· Participate in project planning activities, design review meetings, and cross-functional collaborations.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and engineering objectives.
· Support root cause analysis of product defects, generating comprehensive summary reports for engineering review.
· Support technical reports, charts, graphs, and schematics to illustrate system performance, deviations, and limitations.
Essential Skills
· Engineering and systems engineering expertise.
· Experience with vision systems, automation, and machine vision applications.
· Experience with Cognex Insight and Designer (Hardware & Software).
· Experience with Keyence (Hardware & Software).
· Camera selection (line scan, area scan, profilometers) and lens selection (Telecentric, Fixed Focal Length, Field of View, Depth of Field selection).
· Developed software for image processing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree with 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience.
· Experience developing and deploying Machine Vision applications.
· Experience with .Net WinForms, WPF, HMI’s, and/or PLC’s.
· Experience in any regulated industry is a plus.
· Familiarity with Vision Pro.
· Strong analytical abilities.
· Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and cross-functional collaboration.
· Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvements.
Work Environment
The position requires onsite work 4 days a week. Employees will have the opportunity to learn from qualified individuals with extensive field experience and gain hands-on experience in the medical device field.
