Mike Tholen
As Sustainability and Policy Director within OEUK, Mike Tholen's role is to support the UK’s offshore energy industry in its aim to accelerate the Energy Transition and achieve a “net-zero” future by 2050. He is responsible for delivery of the transformative North Sea Transition Deal which will accelerate the pace of decarbonisation across the UK economy, attracting billions of investment in CCS and hydrogen and create the energy supply chain of the future, building on its oil and gas heritage. He has been responsible for managing industry policy relationship with the UK, and Scottish Government and the EU on energy, carbon policy, economics and fiscal matters. He formerly worked for Shell for 20 years, in the UK and internationally, in a variety of engineering and commercial roles. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a regular commentator on the energy scene.
